Welcome to our home

From Farm to table

“On the farm at Dimora Morello, we cultivate a seasonal garden providing only the freshest ingredients. From beautifully ripe tomatoes and peppers to green lettuce and herbs, our harvest is sure to tantalize your taste buds. Abruzzo-native lemons, figs, and pomegranates are at your fingertips in our exquisite gardens. All other ingredients are sourced locally from farms within the Poggio Morello community.”

The Organic Orchard

Our family prides itself on a tradition carried on from generation to generation: a careful process of making rich extra virgin olive oil from homegrown olives. You will receive a firsthand a view of this process while enjoying and understanding olive oil production during your week’s tour.

Fresh from the Garden

As part of our culinary tour, you can choose from a variety of fruits and vegetables all native to Abruzzo. Homegrown tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and peppers will be used in your meals. Not to mention ornamental lemons, pomegranates, and figs as well.

Generational Vineyards

The aroma of grapes is always present in the air at Dimora Morello. The perfectly aligned vineyards are a mesmerizing sight. Wine making is a natural process that requires very little human intervention. However, each winemaker employs their own individual technique. Harvesting, pressing, fermentation, clarification, aging and bottling are general steps in the process.

Often referred to as the “gourmet mushroom,” this delicacy emits an intense earthy fragrance and provides a unique flavor to any food. Although generally used in small proportions, its undeniable character is anything but small. Within our region, truffles are a natural occurrence, and we will take you on an adventure to find your own with a local hunter.

The Cheese

As part of your culinary tour at Dimora Morello, we will introduce you to the world famous Italian cheeses and their historic origins. For example, Pecorino has a history as sweet sheep's milk cheese in Roman times, around 2000 years ago. The medieval monasteries of Italy were centers of cheese making excellence. Our local farmers still apply the same methods to create the delectable flavors passed along from generation to generation.

Local livestock

As a true agriturismo, all of the meat and eggs we provide are from our local farms. Throughout history, both chicken eggs and meat have been considered luxury foods. Our livestock roams free and provides us with the opportunity to allow our guests to not only experience how our ancestors ate, but enjoy a freshness that is unlike any other.
